Indeed, unlike the United Kingdom and other European countries, Australia does not currently have legislation or regulations specifically dealing with e-commerce and the information that ought to be included on a website. The 2006 Australian Guidelines for Electronic Commerce[i] (the Guidelines), and more recently the Australian Government’s digital business website[ii], provide only non-binding guidelines, albeit some practical assistance to businesses in this context.
